Chapter Twelve – Back Slat Mortises
Now it is time to focus on creating the cloud lift on the rails and stretchers. We will start by marking out the shape of lift in the side rails, front and rear stretchers. Next we will transfer those locations to three different pieces of plywood that will be used to create three jigs for pattern routing.

• Bandsaw, Router Table
• Square, Marking Knife, Chisels
• 3/4″ Plywood, Hold Down Clamps
